Leave the station car park at the south corner up a set of steps, go left steeply uphill passing restored Law castle, continue round the farm then keep right on the rough tarmac road which climbs along the front (west side) of Law hill with great views over the town and Clyde Estuary.
After the road levels out go left through a gate just beyond a line of trees and footpath sign on the right, onto a good track follow it to the top of Law hill, beyond the mast is a lovely view over the town and Clyde estuary.
Retrace your steps back the way you came to the station or if you prefer a (sometimes muddy) loop go straight on where the track bends right 200m from the mast, follow the ridge with the hedge on your right for 200m.
At the corner of the field go through the fence gap and immediately left downhill on a narrow track, follow this down to a good track with a fence go left and in half a kilometre you will find yourself back at Law castle, descend to the station the way you came up. |
